Serving Lee: Food and Clothes Drive

Good morning church! I wanted to take a moment and encourage you to take a few minutes this week to come alongside some students at Lee High School. One of our commitments to our city, and specifically DCPS, is to be a partner. Every week the staff at Lee High School opens their facilities to us and provides a place for us to gather.

I want us to make sure we are contributing to Lee and not just consuming from them. An organization called The Impact of U is hosting a food and clothes drive for some students at Lee High School. These are students who need a little more support from our community. There are a dozen plus students that are considered homeless. I think it’s our responsibility as a church to serve and support the students of Lee High School.

So, this weekend and next weekend please bring with you to church the following:

  • New and Gently used clothes (Teenagers will be wearing the clothes)
  • New or Gently used shoes
  • Toiletries: Toothpaste, lotions, soaps (Stop by Publix on your way to church)
  • Book Bags or duffle bags
  • Non-Perishable Foods (Again..just go by Publix)

If you believe that the city ought to be a better place because of the local church; here’s your chance to serve in a simple way.

If you can’t bring items on Sunday, feel free to stop by our offices Monday-Thursday anytime between 8:30-4:30! 2650 Rosselle St #3. We’ll be here!

Honored to be your pastor.
