How To Prepare for Sunday, 6.7.15

We continue in Acts 4 this Sunday as we look at verses 23-31. Pastor Boyd's big idea this week is that the Gospel works both outward and inward. The working of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church is displayed through the dependency of the apostles on their need for God to empower them for mission.

Focus Verse: And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. - Acts 4:32

How To Pray: God thank you we have the opportunity to pray and have a community of believers to bear each others burdens. Holy Spirit give us boldness to share Jesus with others even when they oppose us.

Every Sunday is all about Jesus at The District Church. We sing songs about Jesus. We listen to preaching about Jesus. We give our offerings to Jesus. One Sunday a month during our gathering we celebrate communion, where we reflect on the good news of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. This Sunday our church will celebrate Jesus’ broken body and the blood He poured out to pay the sin debt. We are looking forward to partaking together as a church and here are couple passages to help prepare you:

1 Corinthians 11:23-34
Luke 22:14-23
